Youth Co:Lab Innovation Challenge

® The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) under NITI Aayog, the UN Development Programme (UNDP) , and Citi Foundation have launched the 7th edition of the Youth Co:Lab National Innovation Challenge for 2024-25. ® This year’s challenge focuses on “Enhancing access to opportunities and well-being for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs)”. ® The initiative will be implemented in collaboration with AssisTech Foundation (ATF) . ® Youth Co:Lab was launched in 2019 in collaboration with AIM and NITI Aayog. ® It has reached over 19,000 people and supported 2,600 youth-led teams.

New day for computer operators

® Starting 2025, the Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) will observe December 26 (birth anniversary of Charles Babbage) as Computer Data Entry Operators’ Day. ® The first computer was invented by Charles Babbage between 1833 and 1871.

India’s first solar village

® Masali village in Banaskantha, Gujarat , is the first solar village near the India-Pakistan border. ® Located 40 km from the border. ® The project involved installing solar panels on 199 rooftops. ® The project cost was ₹1.16 crore. ® The village now has 100% solar power.

Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor inaugurated

® PM inaugurated a 13-km additional section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Vande Bharat corridor. ® The new section connects Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar via Anand Vihar. ® This is the first Namo Bharat corridor in Delhi.
