Glass Bridge in
Kanyakumari

India’s first glass bridge is inaugurated in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu .
®
The bridge was inaugurated during the Silver Jubilee (25th year)
celebration of the Thiruvalluvar Statue’s installation.
®
The bridge is 77 meters long and 10 meters wide.
®
It connects the Vivekananda Memorial with the Thiruvalluvar statue.
Bio-bitumen highway
inaugurated

India’s first bio-bitumen -based National Highway stretch on NH-44 at Mansar in Nagpur, Maharashtra .
®
The stretch uses lignin -based bio-bitumen technology for flexible pavement construction.
®
The technology was developed by
Praj Industries in collaboration with CSIR – Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) , National Highways Authority of India ( NHAI ), and Oriental .
®
Lignin reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 70% compared to fossil-based bitumen.
Omkareshwar Solar
Project Inaugurated

The Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project was
inaugurated in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh .

The project aims to reduce carbon emissions and contribute to the GoI’s mission of net-zero carbon emissions by 2070.

The foundation stone was laid for 1153
Atal Gram Sushasan buildings.

A ₹100 commemorative coin and stamp were released to mark the 100th birth anniversary of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
EmpowHER Biz
launched

Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) of
NITI Aayog has partnered with New Delhi based New Shop (India’s largest 24/7 convenience retail chain).

The partnership aims to launch the ‘EmpowHER Biz – Sapno Ki Udaan’
initiative.
®
The initiative will empower women entrepreneurs in the organised retail sector.
®
It will provide training and mentorship in retail management, digital tools, financial literacy, and business development.
®
50 participants ( aged 18-35 ) will be selected through an online application process.
®
The top 20 performers will receive a 100% waiver on the New Shop franchise fees.
®
The initiative is open to women from Delhi
- National Capital Region (NCR), Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
