AICTE declares 2025 as AI year

® The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has declared 2025 as the “Year of Artificial Intelligence (AI)” to make India a global leader in AI. ® The initiative will involve all 14,000 AICTE-approved colleges and 40 million students. ® A nationwide campaign, “ AI for all: The Future Begins Here,” will be conducted, including workshops, hackathons, and guest lectures to promote AI awareness.

Jammu Railway Division inaugurated

® The new Jammu Railway Division , spanning 742.1 km was inaugurated ® This brings the total number of Indian Railways divisions to 70 . ® The division includes the Pathankot-Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla section (USBRL) (423 route km). ® The 6.5 km long Z-Morh tunnel in Sonamarg, Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir was also inaugurated. Key facts: ® India’s longest transportation tunnels: Sumber-Arpinchala T49 (12.75 km) and Pir Panjal T-80 (11.2 km) ® World’s highest railway bridge - Chenab Bridge ® India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge - Anji Bridge

® Total renewable energy capacity in India reached nearly 218 GW .

Chhattisgarh adopts Green GDP model

® Chhattisgarh is the first Indian state to include its forests’ ecological services in its economic framework using the Green Gross Domestic Product (Green GDP) model. ® This initiative aims to connect environmental contributions (such as clean air, water conservation, and biodiversity) with the state’s economic growth.
