Shyaamnikhil becomes India’s 85th Grandmaster

P. Shyaamnikhil became India’s 85th Grandmaster by completing his third and final GM norm in the recently-concluded Dubai Police Masters chess tournament, ending a 12-year-wait. The 31-year-old conjured the requisite 2500 ELO rating points, the minimum requirement to be a GM.

India hosts 2025 BWF World Junior Badminton Championships in Guwahati

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has announced that India will host the prestigious 2025 BWF World Junior Championships at the National Centre of Excellence in Guwahati. India is hosting this premier badminton tournament after it was held in Pune for the first time in 2008.
