Vaishali Ramesh Babu was officially awarded the title of Grand Master by the International Chess Federation.

Vaishali is the third Indian woman to win the title of Grand Master after Koneru Humpy and Dronavalli Harika. She is the first woman from Tamil Nadu to win the title of Grand Master. She and his brother Ramesh Babu Praggnanandhaa were the world’s first Grand Master brother-sister duo.

Eight-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt has been chosen as the ambassador for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which will be co-hosted by the USA and West Indies in June.
