Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud has recommended Justice Surya Kant, the second senior-most judge of the Supreme Court, to be appointed as the next Chief Justice of India. If approved by the Centre, Justice Surya Kant will take charge as the 53rd CJI on November 24, 2025, and continue till March 9, 2027.

LVM-3 Rocket to Launch into Space on Nov. 2

The LVM-3 rocket, carrying the CMS-03 satellite for coastal border monitoring, is scheduled to be launched on November 2nd from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. So far, ISRO has launched 48 satellites, and the GSAT-7 (Rukmini) satellite, launched in 2013, is nearing the end of its lifespan. To replace it, ISRO has developed the CMS-03 (GSAT-7R) satellite at a cost of ₹1,600 crore. The satellite will be launched into space using the LVM-3 (GSLV Mark-3) rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, on November 2nd. Notably, the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft was also successfully launched using the same rocket earlier.

Electronic Components Manufacturing Scheme: Central Government Approves 7 Projects Worth ₹5,532 Crore

Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, announced that approval has been granted for 7 projects worth ₹5,532 crore under the electronics components manufacturing scheme. Out of 249 project proposals received, 7 were selected to manufacture electronic components like printed circuit boards, motherboards, bases, and camera modules. These projects are expected to reduce the cost of importing electronic components by approximately ₹20,000 crore. Four projects from the Chennai group and one project each from Sirma Group, Amber Group’s Ascent Circuits, and SRDPN Vanam were approved. These projects will enable India to manufacture export-quality wearables and camera modules for the first time.
