Swavalambini for

women entrepreneurs

®     

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) , in collaboration with NITI Aayog , has launched ‘ Swavalambini ’, a Women Entrepreneurship Programme , in Assam, Meghalaya, and Mizoram .

®     

Aims to empower female students in select Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)

of the northeast, by equipping them with entrepreneurial mind-set, resources, and mentorship.

Guidelines for

Market Intervention Scheme

®     

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) has revised the guidelines of the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) .

®     

The limit of procurement of crops under MIS has been increased to 25%

from 20%.

®     

Under the MIS, losses suffered are shared between the Central Government and the concerned State government in the ratio of 50:50

( 75:25 for North-East states).

®     

The MIS will be implemented only when there is a minimum of 10%

reduction in the existing market price compared to the last normal year.

®     

The MIS is a component of the integrated scheme of PM Annadata Aay SanraksHan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA) .

Braille version of

Constitution launched

®     

Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot

launched a Braille version of the Indian Constitution in Bengaluru to empower visually impaired citizens.

®     

This marks the 75th anniversary of the Constitution.

®     

The version is developed by Sankara Eye Hospital , in collaboration with CII Young Indians (Yi) Bengaluru.

IBCA is now treaty

based organization

®     

The Framework Agreement on the establishment of the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA)

has come into force.

®     

As of now, 27 countries including India have consented to join IBCA.

®     

PM Narendra Modi launched IBCA in 2023, during the event ‘Commemorating 50 years of Project Tiger’ with the aim of conservation of 7 big cats : Tiger, Lion, Leopard, Snow Leopard, Cheetah, Jaguar and Puma.
