Indore airport becomes

zero-waste

®      Union Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu inaugurated a 3,000 sq. ft

Material Recovery Facility (MRF) at

Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore , making it India’s first zero-waste airport.

®      The airport follows the 4R strategy : Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Restore

®      The Zero-Waste Airport Project was a joint initiative of IndiGoReach, the Airports Authority of India, and the AAS Foundation.

®      The MRF can process 750 kg

of waste daily.

®      A new air traffic control tower , built at a cost of ₹55 crore , was also inaugurated.

Year of Reforms

®      The Ministry of Defence

has declared 2025 as the ‘year of reforms’ .

®      The focus areas are Simpler procurement procedures, theaterisation, new domains (cyber and space), and emerging technologies (AI, ML, hypersonic and robotics).

CII Health Summit

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised the 21st

Annual Health Summit in New Delhi , under the theme “Transforming Healthcare for Viksit Bharat 2047” .

®     

The government launched the National Medical Device Policy and various schemes to strengthen the MedTech

sector during the summit.

®     

The Government has allocated ₹400 crore for the establishment of medical device parks.

®     

And also allocated ₹500 crore for supporting MedTech sector.

®     

The Export Promotion Council for Medical Devices (EPCMD) was established to boost exports and industry collaboration.

®     

India’s medical device sector is valued at $14 billion and is projected to grow to $30 billion by 2030 .

GSI Geoscience

Museum inaugurated

®     

The Geological Survey of India (GSI) Geoscience Museum was inaugurated in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh .

®     

The museum has two galleries:

Planet Earth: Its Uniqueness in Diversity

®     

Evolution of Life on Earth

®     

Union Minister of State Satish Chandra Dubey issued the first ticket to the museum.
