Padma awards 2024:

The Padma Awards 2024 have been announced, and the list includes 132 recipients, with 30 of them being women and 8 from the categories of foreign non-resident Indian (NRI), person of Indian origin (PIO), and overseas citizenship of India (OCI). The awards are conferred in three categories: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri. Mohammed Salem wins 2024 World Press Photo of the Year award

Reuters photographer Mohammed Salem won the prestigious 2024 World Press Photo of the Year For clicking a photo of a Palestinian woman cradling the body of her five-year-old niece in the Gaza Strip.
