against consumption of liquid nitrogen.
The Food Safety Department is creating awareness among the public about the consequences of consuming liquid nitrogen in any form. Liquid nitrogen, used as a freezing agent and for preservation of food, causes burns and gastric or airway perforations apart from possible rapid onset of abdominal pain and respiratory distress. Liquid nitrogen is nitrogen in a liquid state at low temperature. Liquid nitrogen has a boiling point of about −196 °C.

Ethylene oxide
Singapore and Hong Kong recalled the popular Indian spice brand products after the country’s Food Agency report. The report showed that the spice brand has a ethylene oxide,which is a colourless gas used as a pesticide. Ethylene oxide is classified as a Group 1 carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, which poses serious health risks, including an elevated risk of breast cancer.
