Indian Space
Research Organisation (ISRO) recently released the Indian Space Situation Assessment Report (ISSAR) for the year 2023.
It has been compiled by the Organization for Safe and Sustainable Space Operations Management (IS4OM). A total of 127 Indian satellites, including private satellites, have been launched till 31st December 2023. Number of operational satellites owned by the Government of India (as on 31st December 2023) 22 in LEO (low Earth orbit) 29 at GEO (Geo-Synchronous Earth Orbit). India, Iran sign
10-year contract for Chabahar port operation.
The long-term agreement was signed between Indian Ports Global Ltd. (IPGL) and Port and Maritime Organisation (PMO) of Iran, enabling operation of the Shahid- Behesti terminal. Chabahar is a deep water port located in the Sistan -Baluchistan province of Iran. As India continues to invest in Chabahar port, its efficiency and capacity will be further enhanced, solidifying India’s commitment to the region’s economic development. India will use the port for humanitarian aid shipments, reaffirming its commitment to support regional development beyond commercial interests, showcasing its commitment to fostering goodwill and stability in the region. It served as a vital trade artery connecting India with Afghanistan and Central Asian Countries.
