Tamil Nadu Cabinet Approves 15 Industrial Projects Worth ₹34,237 Crore
The Tamil Nadu Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, approved 15 industrial investment projects at a meeting held at the Secretariat in Chennai. These projects involve a total investment of ₹34,237.39 crore and are expected to generate employment for 55,096 people. The approved projects will be established across several districts including Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Tiruvannamalai, Ranipet, Krishnagiri, Namakkal, Perambalur, Tiruchirappalli, Karur, Tiruppur, Ramanathapuram, and Thoothukudi. The projects cover sectors such as software technology, textiles, automotive electronic components, shipbuilding, and industrial manufacturing. Approval has been granted to ‘Jaffan Electrics’, an automotive electronic components manufacturing company, and ‘Eltekon Kothari Supply’, which is expected to provide employment to 25,000 people. Permissions have also been issued for the expansion of several small spare parts manufacturing units. In addition, Tata Jaguar Land Rover’s fourth car manufacturing project in India will be inaugurated in the Ranipet region on the 9th of this month by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin along with Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran.
Tamil Nadu Launches Municipal Projects Worth ₹3,511 Crore
M.K. Stalin, at an event held in Chennai, inaugurated 183 projects worth ₹3,511 crore under the Municipal Administration Department across Tamil Nadu and laid the foundation stone for 10 new projects worth ₹1,267 crore. These include a seven-storey building costing ₹1,070 crore under the Urban Housing Scheme in Namakkal district, two combined drinking water schemes worth ₹138.41 crore for 11 Panchayat Unions, and seven combined drinking water schemes worth ₹1,724.34 crore, benefiting 11.60 lakh people. Underground drainage projects were launched in Coimbatore, Tiruvallur, and Thanjavur, benefiting 4.96 lakh people, while sewage treatment plants were inaugurated in Tiruvannamalai, Salem, Chengalpattu, and Dindigul regions. Foundation stones were also laid for underground drainage works, sewage pumping projects, flyovers, trauma care centres, and housing and court complex improvements. In addition, five new vehicles worth ₹47 lakh were handed over for the use of the Greater Chennai Corporation.
