‘Ideas4LiFE’ Initiative

® The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) announced 21 winning ideas under the ‘Ideas4LiFE’ initiative, launched in collaboration with UNICEF YuWaah. ® The competition sought innovative ideas across seven themes of Mission LiFE: Save Energy, Save Water, Say No to Single-Use Plastic, Sustainable Food Systems, Reduce Waste, Reduce E-waste, and Adopt Healthy Lifestyles. ® Pachaiyappa’s College for Men, Kanchipuram secured 3rd prize in the ‘Save Energy’ category. ® PSG College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore won 1st prize in ‘Say No Single Use Plastic’ and 2nd prize in ‘Adopt Sustainable Food Systems’ themes

Launches Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI)

® The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has introduced the Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI) to combat rising cyber fraud and financial crimes. ® FRI is a risk-based metric that categorizes mobile numbers as ‘Medium’, ‘High’, or ‘Very High’ risk based on their association with fraudulent activity. ® It facilitates real-time intelligence sharing with banks, UPI service providers, and financial institutions. ® UPI platforms may decline or flag transactions linked to ‘Very High’ risk FRI numbers, displaying on-screen fraud alerts to users.
