iGOT Karmayogi
crosses 1 crore users milestone
® The Union Ministry of Personnel announced that iGOT Karmayogi, the Integrated Government Online Training platform under Mission Karmayogi, has surpassed 1 crore registrations. ® This marks a 30-fold increase from 3 lakh users in January 2023 within just over two years. ® The top five states by user count are Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. ® Launched under the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPCSCB), iGOT Karmayogi aims to develop a competent, professional, and future-ready civil service.
‘Sagar Mein Samman’ Policy Launched to Boost Women’s Role in
Maritime Sector
® On May 18, the Centre launched the ‘Sagar Mein Samman’ policy on the occasion of the International Day for Women in Maritime. ® The initiative aims to enhance women’s participation in the maritime sector by promoting empowerment, leadership, inclusivity, safety, and skill development. ® India targets 12% female representation in technical maritime roles by 2030. ® The number of women seafarers in India rose from 341 (2014) to 2,557 (2024).
Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra Inaugurated in Kota
® Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra (PMDK) was inaugurated in Kota, Rajasthan by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. ® The centre aims to provide affordable and quality assistive devices to senior citizens and persons with disabilities. ® A total of 45 PMDK centres are currently functional across India. ® The initiative is implemented by Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
Centre Launches New
Digital Initiatives in Public Distribution System (PDS)
The Centre has launched three digital tools to modernize the Public Distribution System (PDS): ® Depot Darpan – A self-assessment and monitoring portal for depot officials. ® Anna Mitra – A digital platform catering to operational needs of PDS stakeholders; currently active in Assam, Uttarakhand, Tripura, and Punjab. ® Anna Sahayata – A grievance redressal platform for citizens, covering Gujarat, Jharkhand, Telangana, Tripura, and Uttar Pradesh in its pilot phase. ® These initiatives are designed to benefit over 81 crore PMGKAY beneficiaries.

According to the ’ Payment System Report, December 2024 ’ released by the RBI, digital payments in India increased by 6.7 times in volume and 1.6 times in value in the last 5 years.
