INS Tarini Completes Global
Circumnavigation – 2025
® INS Tarini, the Indian Naval Sailing Vessel, successfully completed an eight-month world voyage, covering over 25,400 nautical miles across four continents, three oceans, and three Great Capes. ® The expedition was commanded by Lieutenant Commanders Roopa A and Dilna K, marking a significant milestone in women’s leadership in Indian naval history.
ISRO launches 100th
mission

ISRO has launched its 100th mission from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
®
The ’ GSLV-F15’ rocket successfully placed the ’ NVS-02 ’ navigation satellite into its intended Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit .
®
It is to be noted that NVS-01 , launched in 2023, carried India’s first indigenous atomic clock.
®
U.R.Rao Satellite Centre, Karnataka, developed it.
®
It weighs about 2,250 kg.
®
So far, ISRO has orbited 548 satellites (including 433 foreign satellites) having a total payload of 120 tonnes (23 tonnes for foreign satellites) in 100 launches .
New Goby fish
species found

Researchers from the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) have discovered two species of goby fish
in the Coringa wildlife sanctuary
near Kakinada , Andhra Pradesh.
®
The discovered species are Hemigobius hoevenii and Mugilogobius tigrinus.
ISRO restarts Vikas
engine
®
ISRO has successfully demonstrated the restarting of its Vikas liquid engine
at a test facility in Mahendragiri, Odisha.
®
The engine powers the liquid stages of ISRO’s launch vehicles.
®
During the development of the LVM3 launch vehicle Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) designed and developed the stage.
®
It is powered by twin Vikas engines with a propellant loading of 110 tonnes.
Gaganyaan Crew
Module dispatched

The Bengaluru-based Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) of the ISRO has sent the Crew Module for the first uncrewed mission (G1) of Gaganyaan
to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota.
®
The Crew Module Propulsion System (CMPS) has been integrated into the module.
®
CMPS will ensure precise three-axis control during descent and re-entry, until the parachute is deployed.
®
CMPS has 12 thrusters (100N thrust each), a propellant feed mechanism, and high-pressure gas bottles.
