It aims to raise public awareness of museums. The inaugural International Museum Day was organized in 1977 by ICOM, International Council of Museum. The theme for this year is “Museums for Education and Research”.

DAY 2024-MAY 18

It serves as a global initiative to raise awareness about the urgent need for a vaccine to prevent HIV infection and AIDS. This day commemorates the anniversary of a speech given by then US President Bill Clinton on May 18,1997. The first World AIDS Vaccine Day was observed on May 18, 1998.
