in New Delhi .

The expo theme was “ Beyond Boundaries: Co-creating Future Automotive Value Chain ”.
Skill India
Programme outlay increased

The central government has restructured its skilling initiatives, merging three schemes into the Skill India Programme .
®
The Cabinet has approved an outlay of ₹8,800 crore for the programme for a three-year period ending in 2026 .
The following schemes are now components of the Skill India Programme:

PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 (PMKVY 4.0)
®
PM National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS)
®
Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) Scheme
NMM to become
autonomous
®
The central government has initiated steps to make the National Mission for Manuscripts (NMM) autonomous , allocating ₹491.6 crore until 2031
through a Special Finance Committee.
®
The NMM, established in 2003 by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture , aims to unearth and preserve India’s manuscript wealth.
®
Earlier, it functioned as a part of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA).
NCSK tenure
extended
®
The Union Cabinet has approved a 3-year extension for the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK) , functioning under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

The extension, aims to:

Improve the socio-economic status of sanitation workers
®
Improve working conditions of sanitation workers
®
Achieve zero fatalities during hazardous cleaning
®
The NCSK is headed by M Venkatesan .
®
The first NCSK was established in 1994 and functioned as a statutory body till 2004.
